Targeting specific YouTube channels of relevant artists is a smart way to connect with audiences who already appreciate similar music. By leveraging detailed insights from the Music Tomorrow app, you can create highly effective Google and YouTube ad campaigns that resonate with the right listeners.

📤 Step 2: Download data about relevant artists and their Youtube Channels
Before setting up your YouTube ad campaign, you’ll need to gather and organize data about artists and their YouTube channels.
a) Export Audience Data
Navigate to the Audience Builder Section in the Music Tomorrow app.
In the drop down list, select all clusters relevant for the release you want to promote
Click "Export Current Audience" and select "Yes, give me all links." This export will contain the artist list and associated YouTube channel URLs.
A few minutes later, you will receive an email in your mailbox, check the file titled "artist list" for the YouTube channel URLs.
b) Organize Your Data
Import the file into Excel or Google Sheets, and filter for the column labeled "YouTube_URL."
💡 Example: If promoting an indie pop artist, you might find channels for similar acts like Clairo, Tame Impala, or Beach House. These will become your placement targets.
Step 3: Set Up Your YouTube Ad Campaign
Open Google Ads: Log in to your Google Ads account. Under “Campaigns,” select the option to create a new campaign.
Choose Campaign Goal: Choose a goal that suits your music promotion, like “Website traffic” or “Brand awareness and reach.”
Select Campaign Type: Choose “Video” for videoclip ads on YouTube.
Define the Ad Format: Choose the ad format that works best for your objective
Step 4: Set Audience Targeting for Specific relevant artists channels & keywords
Go to "Audience": After setting your demographics, scroll to the "Interests & detailed demographics" + "Content - Keywords" section and use all relevant keywords obtained on our app. It could be relevant music genres, artist names, playlist names, etc... that are available after tapping them in the search bar.
To add external keywords, you can use the "Get keywords ideas" section and add your artist or other relevant artists' YouTube channels URLs to enrich your targeting.
Go to Topics: Click on "Browse" and select "Music & Audio" to identify the best topics related to your artist's music.
Go to Placements and click on “Enter” section to add target artist channels:
Go back to the "artist list" file from the audience export file and paste the URL of their YouTube channels. Add multiple channels for a wider reach.

Create Engaging Content: Use your most captivating music video clip or a snippet of a performance to draw attention.
Include a Call to Action (CTA): Encourage viewers to listen to the full song, follow your channel, or explore your music on other platforms.
Tailor the Ad Message: Mention connections to the artists’ styles or genres to make the ad resonate more with their fans.
Step 6: Track and Adjust Your Campaign
Monitor Performance: Regularly review campaign metrics such as view rate, watch time, and engagement to see how it performs.
Adjust Targeting: Refine targeting based on performance; you may find that some artist channels yield better results than others.
Experiment with Other Channels: Test ads on different artist channels to expand your audience and reach new listeners.
